The Cellar
Il Contadino online was born as an e-commerce site of Milano Fresh Srl specializing in agricultural and wine products of Italian origin only and is at the beginning of its direct experience in production in the field of quality wine, among the rows of the best vineyards of Guagnano (LE), Salento. Tied from its origins as a family to the land of Salento, theirs is a company formed and run by young women, eager to introduce their best selections of wines from Negramaro and Primitivo grapes, typical of the area, to their foreign and Italian customers.
II Contadino currently operates out of the Cantina di Guagnano and works closely not only with a dense network of private customers but also with the HO.RE.CA sector throughout Europe and beyond. The interaction between the production facility in Guagnano and the sales facility in Milan ensure continuous supplies of their products, coupled with branched logistics that make possible orders from a few cartons at a time up to full pallets with maximum convenience and speed of delivery.

SALENTO IGP PRIMITIVO ROSÉ
Denomination: Primitivo Rosato
Grape varieties: 100% Primitivo
Alcohol content: 13.5 percent
Made from Salento’s best Primitivo grapes, harvested by hand in the last decade of August and vinified using the most advanced winery techniques.
Brilliant with coral hues, the nose is complex with floral and citrus notes.
The palate is fresh, velvety and closes with a long and pleasant blueberry and cherry finish. Serve cold.

SAPIENTIA SCIENTIA EX GAUDIO
Negramaro 70%, Primitivo 30%, deep garnet red color with violet hues.
The nose is broad, complex and very fragrant with important hints of ripe red fruit. The palate is rich, binding and balanced, a jammy concentrate with toasty nuances of great persistence. Important, balanced and velvety tannins give this wine a soft and persistent finish.
Serve at 16 to 18 degrees.

SALENTO IGP NEGROAMARO
Denomination: Salento IGP Negroamaro
Grape varieties: 100% Negramaro
Alcohol content: 14%.
Made from the pure Negramaro grape variety of the same name.
Impenetrable ruby. The nose is complex with black fruits and toasty nuances. The palate is rich and enveloping with velvety tannins and a soft, lingering finish.
Serve at 16°-18°

SALENTO IGP PRIMITIVO
Denomination: Salento IGP Primitivo
Grape varieties: 100% Primitivo
Alcohol content: 14%, contains sulfites
Made from the pure grape variety of the same name. Impenetrable garnet.
The nose is broad and fragrant with ripe fruit. The palate is dense and concentrated jammy, rich and of beautiful length, with important and balanced tannins.

IGP PUGLIA VINIFIED IN WHITE
Denomination: White from Negramaro
Grape varieties: Negroamaro
Alcohol content: 12%, contains sulfites
This unique wine is the result of careful white vinification of the best Negromaro grapes grown as Alberello vines in the Salento plain and harvested by hand in the first decade of September. Its pleasant structure is enriched with fresh aromatic notes conferred by the blend with Minutolo.
Brilliant with greenish hues, it reveals a harmony of white flowers and exotic fruit on the nose, while on the palate its generous freshness gives way to a sweet note of ripe credit.

SALENTO IGP NEGROAMARO PASSITO
Denomination: Salento IGP Negramaro Passito
Grape varieties: 100% Negramaro
Alcohol content: 15%, contains sulfites
It comes from the late harvest of the best Negramaro grapes. Salento’s warm summer breezes favor the delicate drying phase and natural sugar concentration. Garnet, concentrated, with purple highlights; deep, fruity with overpowering notes of ripe plum, black cherry jam, candied citrus, dried figs and vanilla. The palate is rich enveloping and elegant. Its balanced acidity amplifies its aromatic complexity with a lingering finish of sweet, ripe tannins.
